The spot benzene prices were slightly lower
on June 20, due to a structure that was backwardated between June and the month
of July. Benzene delivered five to thirty days
in advance was $878/mt CIF ARA, down $1/mt from the previous day. Demand had
slowed down since the end the previous week, and supply was seen as being
healthy. Styrene prices firmed up slightly due to a
structure of contango between June and the end of July. Styrene
loading for five-to-30-days ahead was $969.50/mt at FOB ARA, up $1/mt from the
previous day. This is based on a contagious structure between June and August. The spread
between the benzene-styrene mix was $91.50/mt on June 20. This is up from
