Benzene contract for June settles / Crude Oil Futures Drop on the Day

US Gulf Coast benzene prices dropped on June 3, due to lower oil futures prices and stable downstream spot prices for styrene. Spot June DDP benzene was 390 cents/gal USG DDP and June FOB at 395cents/gal USG FOB, both 4 cents lower on the day. Prices for July were 386 cents/gal DDP and 391 cents/gal FOB. Ethylbenzene was assessed at 363 Cents/gal DDP in June and 369 Cents/gal DDP in July. The FOB-to-DDP premium was unchanged at 5 cents, and the backwardation of 4 cents between forward and front months. The contract price for US Gulf Coast US Benzene in June settled at 398.5 Cents/gal.
