continued to improve in the European naphtha market driven by strong
gasolineblending demand amid reduced supply, with a wider backwardation on the
day and falling East-West spreads. Naphtha exports to Northwest Europe in May
are forecast to be 677,000 mt versus 1.623 million mt in April, according to
Kpler shipping data, while ARA naphtha stocks dropped 9.8% to 277,000 mt in the
week to May 25. In Asia, market participants remained bearish on the near-term
naphtha market outlook amid prolonged weakness in downstream petrochemicals
demand. A Singapore-based trader said the naphtha market was oversupplied as
downstream demand remained very sluggish with supply from India and the Middle
