Asian Toluene softens amid lack of clarity in crude direction / China inventory drops in east port but rises in the south / Japan production falls 1% MOM, 3% YOY

Prices for Asian toluene were either stable or lower on Jan. 24. This was largely due to the upstream markets. The market news is largely unchanged with a cautious mood and light trading before the holidays. The marker will include 2,000-3,000 mt and merchantable cargoes, which do not attract extra duties. This is effective Jan. 2. FOB Korea's toluene mark was down $1/mt from its previous close of $777/mt on Jan. 24. FOB China, however, was down $5/mt at $790/mt. This is based on intraday values and takes into account the weaker domestic market. The Market on Close assessment on January 24 was not transparent. There were no bids or offers. The prompt ex-tank supply from east China fell Yuan 25/mt compared to the previous session, at Yuan 6,515/mt. This...
