The Asian recycled high-density polyethylene marketremained stable in the week to June 5 as demand-supplyfundamentals held steady. The price of recycled HDPE natural film was down $5/mt from the previous week to $750/mt, FOB Southeast Asia. While recycled HDPE blow molding pellets remained unchanged at $600/mt, FOB Southeast Asia. Demand for recycled HDPE films remained weak. Sources are expecting a downward trend in prices. Sources said that the preference for primematerials continues to hinder the use of recycledmaterials. "Prime prices are so cheap, it's hard to see why anyone would want to use recycled materials." A trader said that companies only use a small percentage of recycled materials because they are environmentally sustainable.
