The recycled high density polyethylene market trended downward in the week to July 31 amid weakening demand. recycled high density polyethylene natural film down $10/mt on the week at $720/mt FOB Southeast Asia, while recycled HDPE black blow molding pellets were also down $10/mt on the week at $580/mt FOB Southeast Asia on July 31. Demand remains slow, and buyers are adopting a waitand- see stance due to continued high freight costs and weak downstream demand during the off-peak season in markets such as China and India. Freight costs from Southeast Asia to India were heard at around $3,300-$3,600/mt for a 40-foot container, said a producer.
