In Asia, propylene prices fell in the week ending February 14, due to poor margins downstream and a lack of buying interest. Prices in Southeast Asia increased due to limited availability. A buyer reported that the disruption in supply at a major production facility in SE Asia resulted in a tightening of supply. Only one producer currently offers cargoes on the spot market. Parcels are loading between end-February and March. Several sources, however, said that the prices were too high and unaffordable. The offers stood at $900/mt. SE Asian producers capitalized on the situation by offering propylene parcels for high prices. However, regional buyers rejected them.
