Asian Solvent MX drops around $33/mt per week due to lower aromatics and crude / Isomer MX price drops by $36/mt in a week / Spread for naphtha drops to $24/mt

On Sept. 13th, Asian mixed-grade xylene was down $33.29/mt on the week to $670/mt at FOB Korea. This is due to steep drops in premium-grade MX and mixed-grade xylene as well as lower prices for aromatics and crude oils. Due to lower prices on downstream and upstream markets, Asian isomer MX fell $36/mt in one week at $701/mt. Solvent-MX trader estimates that the value of solvent-MX was around $30-$40/mt lower than isomer MX during the week beginning Sept. 9. A second trader confirmed that the prices of solvent-MX were "definitely below" isomer. A third trader estimated FOB Korean solvent-MX at as low as $650/mt based on market prices.
