The price of Asian paraxylene fell day-over-day on Jan. 17, amid concerns about unsold cargoes from February and a slight decline in crude oil. Asian paraxylene prices fell $3/mt per day to $898.33/mt FCL Taiwan/China on Jan. 17. Sources said that despite the fact that February's trade has been completed, unsold cargoes are still visible. A trader in Singapore stated that "a few parcels" [of February loading cargoes] were still lying around. The trader said that although the outlook for the PX spot markets has improved in recent months, these unsold goods could put a slight pressure on the market.
