The price of Asian Paraxylene was up on Dec. 11 due to higher oil prices. Asian paraxylene was up $7.33/mt for the day, at $815/mt F.R. Taiwan/China on Dec. 11. Crude oil prices continued to rise during the morning trading session in Asia on December 11. This was due to Beijing's decision, its first major policy change since 2011, to adopt a more loose monetary strategy in anticipation of an upcoming trade war between the US and President-elect Donald Trump. The news that the world's largest crude-importing country had increased its crude imports also helped to boost sentiment. Data from the General Administration of Customs revealed Dec. 10 that China's crude exports increased 12.2% over the previous month, reaching a 15-month peak of 11,86 million b/d (48.52 million mt).
