Methyl methacrylate prices remained stable on the day onJuly 17, with the China assessment at $2,080/mt CFR China andthe Southeast Asia assessment at $2,230/mt CFR SE Asia.According to a trader in China, supplies of MMA continued toremaintight.However, sources said the tightness in supplies did little toboostprices."The supply [of MMA] remains tight but demand was weakfrom downstream due to slow downstream market activity," thetrader in China said.In the PMMA market, sentiment remained slightly depresseddespite stable demand cues, sources said.The high costs of MMA were harming the PMMA market, thetrader in China said.Additionally, the high costs of freight would further cap buyinginterest and worsen the ongoing situation in the MMA and PMMAmarkets, the trader in China added."My personal opinion is [that it is] difficult for improvementfrom downstream as other bigger challenge [arises]...
