Asian Iso MX: Falling $27.50/mt as xylenes maintain a sluggish growth trend / Paraxylene drops $30.33/mt in a week / China MX Inventory is expected to rise further

On August 23, Asian isomer grade mixed xylene dropped $27.50/mt from the previous week to $796.50/mt at FOB Korea. It also fell to $811.50/mt at CFR Taiwan, and $822.50/mt at CFR China. This was due in part to crude oil futures below $80/b as well as a sluggish downstream demand. Paraxylene also fell by $30.33/mt, to $929/mt for Taiwan/China. On a day-to-day basis, the domestic China ex tank assessment fell Yuan 8.34/mt to Yuan 6,898.33/mt or $829/mt on import-parity. The domestic China mark fell Yuan 236.67/mt from week to week, as the inventory of MX was reported rising in east China by around 30,000 mt in the week beginning August 19.
