Asian mixed xylene isomer grade fell by $18.50/mt in a week, from $855/mt to $870/mt for FOB Korea to $884/mt for CFR China. This was due to lower upstream prices as well as reports of abundant supply of MX coming from South Korea. The October ICE Brent crude futures rose from earlier lows to $78.26/b in Asian trade at 0830 GMT on August 8. Isomer-MX fell $2/mt FOB Korea, CFR Taiwan, and CFR China. The CFR Taiwan/China paraxylene marker increased $0.33/mt from day to day, reaching 983/mt in Asian trade on August 8, a decrease of $22.33/mt for the week.
