Asian Iso MX: FOB Korea increases $10/mt per week; Focus on term contract / China MX Inventory shrinks / China MX price dips

As bids for cargoes to be loaded in February began to emerge, the price of mixed Asian isomer xylene increased by $4/mt per day. It was $703/mt FOB Korea on Dec. 6 and $718/mt at CFR Taiwan. FOB Korea's marker increased $10/mt from week to week. Meanwhile, the focus of contract negotiations for term cargoes in 2025 was intense. Market sources reported that Taiwanese producer CPC had settled its 2025 term contract tender in a range between minus $5/mt and plus $5/mt against the FOB Korea average monthly price to several buyers. This compares to a premium around plus $5/mt for 2024. On Dec. 6, domestic prices in China fell in line with the falling crude oil price.
