Asian HDPE / Trading in Asia remains quiet / Virgin PE sales in China increase - Feb 17, 2025

In the week ending February 12, there was little trading in China, India or Southeast Asia. The recycled HDPE natural films pellets were stable at $755/mt, FOB Southeast Asia on February 12, and HDPE black blowmoldings pellets at $575/mt, FOB Southeast Asia. Sources claim that the weakening currency of the US dollar against the Malaysian ringgit caused the prices to be slightly lower for FOB Port Klang. Demand did not change significantly. The trading activity was very low, particularly in China where traders were returning slowly from their holidays. In India, sources reported that the demand was steady week-on-week, and one recycler noticed an increase in inquiries.
