Asian Ethylene quiet with few deals heard / Some November availability is still available / Naphtha rebounds $15.50/mt

On the Asian ethylene market, activity was low on October 23, with few transactions. According to sources, several producers claimed to be sold out of Novemberloading shipments, but traders still had availability for delivery in Nov. The market was slightly more bullish due to the rebound in naphtha price. Some participants said that firm bids and offers were limited because of feedstock volatility. The C+F Japan Naphtha Marker was up $15.50/mt for the day to $673.125/mt at the Asian close on October 23. The ethylene-naphtha differential was calculated at 161.875/mt. This is below the usual spreads of $250/mt or $300-350/mt that are typical for integrated producers.
