On stable demand, Asian caprolactam was stable at $1.700/mt CFR Far East Asia on June 6. CFR Southeast Asia also remained unchanged at $1720/mt in line with the stability of CFR FE Asia as well as the Asian caprolactam markets. A market source stated that spot prices were volatile last week but seemed to be more stable this past week. Demand also appears to be stable. According to other sources, prices were higher due to higher upstream benzene. Benzene prices fell this week. This week, the price of benzene upstream fell. The caprolactam uptrend has slowed down. The market said that although May's activities were better than anticipated, they seemed to be slowing down. Current replenishment rates cannot support the current price levels.
