Asian Caprolactam: Stable amid Rangebound Price Discussions / Taiwan's CPDC plans to reverse the Hsiaokang Line in November / Low demand before the traditional peak season

Asian caprolactams prices were stable during the week ended August 22 as discussions on price remained neutral. A producer in Taiwan stated that the downstream demand was still good, but the peak season did not appear. He added that macroeconomic worries around world have affected demand for downstream derivative nylon-6. However, if interest rates in the US drop, this could boost household spending, and increase demand for nylon-related products like carpets. Market sources claim that the demand for caprolactam has not improved significantly.
