Asian Benzene : Rises slightly; discussion in Taiwan limited / Price fluctuations are generally moderate throughout the day / Lower SM production to allow benzene export

On February 14, benzene prices in Asia rose by 34 cents/mt, to $917.67/mt FOM Korea. This was despite limited discussions in Taiwan. Brent futures for the month of February increased by 77 cents/b at the Asian close, to $75.44/b. The naphtha contract gained $13.25/mt in the trading session, to $677.875/mt CF Japan. The price movements were modest throughout the day. FOB Korea rose $2/mt during the morning session, before reversing the gains and settling at 34 cents/mt more as the Asian close. During the Market on Close process, TotalEnergies, SKGC and other companies made bids and offered for H2 April and March laycans. A trade for H2 march FOB Korea concluded during the MOC at $917/mt.
