USGC Styrene monomer: Spot price drops on week / Styrene deal concludes at $1,085/mt / Crude Oil Futures Settle Lower

The US Gulf Coast spot prices of styrene fell during the week ending on September 20 due to ongoing trades. On Sept. 20, front-month spot price was $1,115/mt FOM USGC and forward-month prices were $1,085/mt FOM USGC. Both prices are down $160 since Sept. 13. Most recent trades for October were heard at $1,085/mt USG. The market structure maintained a backwardation of $30/mt to Month 1 FOB. On the wider energy market, crude oil futures were lower on September 20. The market was consolidating recent gains against the backdrop of improved demand forecasts after the US Federal Reserve cut interest rates. NYMEX November WTI closed 16 cents lower, at $71/b.
