US benzene was stable on June 2, despite a
muted market. Sources cited low demand. One source stated that the gains in the energy
sector on June 2 were offset by the lack of demand. The source
said that benzene's price had "no impact at all". Both June
FOB and DDP are at 347 cents/gal. They have remained stable for the day. The spot
price of styrene is $990-1010/mt. June contract benzene settled at 355
cents/gal (1,063/mt) on June 1, which is also higher than the current spot
styrene prices. Sources have said that June spot styrene has
been sold out. Producers have also reduced run rates which could be
