Asia PVC imports increase on higher deals / Dalian PVC Futures Fall Yuan 17/mt in a Day / Japan's December PVC production rises 18% month-on-month to 134.046 mt

Due to regional shutdowns, Asian PVC prices rose in the week ending Jan. 22, mainly due to higher deals on cargoes expected to arrive over February. Fresh discussions on spot Chinese prices for imports were limited in this week due to some Chinese participants not wanting to start negotiations before the Lunar New Year holidays, and amid an uncertain outlook. They said that many traders in China have already begun their holidays. According to market sources, February demand is usually weak, particularly in China due to Lunar New Year holidays. China's PVC Futures dropped slightly. The most actively traded May futures were down Yuan 17/mt from day to day, at Yuan 5,284/mt as of Jan. 22. Traders said that several market participants were watching weather-related problems on US PVC output....
