The Asian propylene markets remained under
pressure on June 19, as spot supply increased and continued to impact prices. The August ICE Brent crude futures contract at
4:30 pm Singapore time was up 60 cents/b compared to the previous Asian closing
at $76.25/b. This did not help propylene's battered market. A Chinese
buyer said that the propylene market is still under pressure due to domestic
oversupply. After taking into account taxes and currency
exchange, the price of Shandong propylene dropped by Yuan 30/mt to Yuan
6,120/mt. This comes out at $726-742/mt CIF China. In May, the
average operating rate of China's 24 dehydrogenation plants for propane reached
