Bearish conditions continued across
European polypropylene markets in the week to May 3, as demand remained quiet
across derivative sectors. Pessimism continued to dominate market sentiment,
unchanged from the settlement of the May contract price for key feedstock
propylene on May 1. The European propylene industry-settled contract price for
May was agreed at Eur1,130/mt on May 1, down Eur15/mt from April, market
sources May 2. The
direction of the settlement was largely driven by stability in average pricing
for key feedstock naphtha across April. Average European naphtha spot prices
stood at $676.33/mt CIF NWE in April, a negligible rise from levels of
$674.79/mt in March. The European polypropylene market largely saw limited
