The European oxo-alcohol markets were
subdued during the week ending May 4, as market conditions remained subdued. The lack of demand for spot materials continued
to be a factor in the weak buyer appetite. Participants
on the market highlighted the weak demand in the construction sector, which has
not yet shown a typical seasonal rise in consumption for spring 2023. The market
was also under pressure this week due to the availability of imported materials
and the pressure they exerted. A producer said that, "despite
the start of Q2 peak construction season, there has been no significant pickup
in demand." He added that, "adequate supplies, imports, and
