The availability of ethylene on both the inland and coastal markets in northwest Europe remained limited in the week ending August 30, due to reduced cracker runs and limited imports. According to data, the three-to-30-day free-delivered Northwest European ethylene spot prices were assessed at Eur931.50/mt August 30, an increase of Eur40/mt from the previous week. A trader on the coastal market made spot offers at 15%-20% discounts for material that would be delivered before or by the middle of September. However, trading activity was subdued all week. Material shortages made it hard to meet bids from both domestic producers and imports.
