ACETONE/PHENOL - The FD Northwest Europe
acetone spot prices are at Eur1,365/mt February 28, down Eur10/mt from the
previous week. They are below a producer’s indicative range of
Eur1,375-1.400/mt but moving towards a distributor's range of
Eur1,300-1.350/mt. This is in response to a downward trend in prices. Sources say that the acetone market continues to
be affected by supply shortages. According to a market source, this
situation is unlikely to change over the next few months or years as phenol
demand will likely remain low for April (and possibly May). The source
stated that this could continue until the end of the summer. However, they
added that market conditions may improve in the fourth quarter. The April
