Upstream naphtha drops $8.75/mt in one day / Sinopec listed price up Yuan 200/mt on day

In the face of a depressed crude oil market upstream, Asian benzene fell by $5/mt in a single trading session on May 31 to $1093.33/mt. Crude oil futures fell on May 30, as demand expectations dimmed due to a slower US GDP and an unexpected gasoline inventory build. Markets remained largely flat in the afternoon Asian trade of May 31, as investors awaited US inflation data, and the announcement of OPEC’s production policy during its weekend meeting. Front-month ICE Brent Futures were at $81.74/b - $1.68/b less than the previous session. The Naphtha market also finished weaker. The C+F Japan mark was down $8.75/mt from day to day, at $677.25/mt.
