market for recycled low density polyethylene during the week ending April 19. Market sources stated that
although many producers were interested in chemical recycling, the high costs
of ensuring a greater and higher-quality supply to pyrolysis facilities was a
barrier. These costs are usually passed
onto consumers, but the current economic slowdown has made this difficult. Market sources claim that waste management companies have
little incentive to sort wastes into the appropriate quality for recyclers. By 2025, it was estimated that a chemical recycling capacity
