On April 19, the European naphtha markets
moved into contango, amid a general feeling of a long-term market. One source stated that the
curve is "getting closer to flipping in contango". April/May swap spreads were assessed at minus $1/mt on the
same day, while May/June dropped 50 cents/mt from $3.25/mt. On the other hand, there was more activity on the selling
side of the market assessment, with three offers still outstanding and one
withdrawn. The front-month CIF NWE swap
was down by $8/mt for the day, at $667.50/mt. In blending the front-month CIF NWE swap discount to the
comparable gasoline swaps has been assessed at $166.75/mt, down $18.25/mt from
