CFR North Asia LPG rose on May 13 despite the fall in Brent crude futures for the front-month of July. The propane-butane differential narrowed to $19/mt, from a high of nearly 11 months at $25/mt. Asian propane prices continued to remain higher than butane, despite a lackluster demand for propylene downstream. The front-cycle CFR North Asia June delivery propane was $605.50/mt, up $4.50/mt from the previous day. The difference between H1 June-delivery propane and the June contract price was $70.50/mt on May 13, compared to $62/mt on May 10. CFR North Asia sold H2 June propane for $604.50/mt, up $5.50/mt from the previous day. The premium of H2-delivery propane over the June contract price was $69.50/mt.
