Latin American PVC prices: WCSA stable, but Brazil increases / The region expects an increase in July / Focus on freight in Asia, and price hikes in Taiwan

The spot import PVC price in Latin America's key markets was assessed flat on June 19, in the West Coast and with an increase of $60/mt, in Brazil. As a trader stated, traders are still watching the reactions of "chaotic cargo situation in Asia" but also with expectations of higher prices coming up in the next few weeks due to reported increases in Taiwan or Europe.

PVC prices on the Pacific Coast of South America were assessed at $880/mt CFR. Market participants are focusing on forecasts of upcoming trades, even though prices haven't changed over the past week. A trader said that FPC Taiwan, one of the major producers, had announced a $150 million increase in PVC today. "So, expect US producers to follow this example...
