In the first week in July, the European recycled low density polyethylene market began to show signs of eased supply. Buyers were heard pushing against the increased offer levels. Some recyclers also started to lower production in order cope with the cost challenge. This week, the market began to hear about buyer resistance and more affordable materials. The market is currently apathetic. A recycler stated that "demand is not very good." Customers are asking us to reduce the price of pellets, but we're not ready to do so. A distributor said that post-industrial recycled materials were more readily available on the market and that "[translucent] pellets] are hard to move right now."
