The European market for linear low density polyethylene remained constrained during the week ending September 4, due to low production at home and difficulties with imports. According to sources, domestic producers have continued to maintain production at low levels to meet structural demands, but on the import side players continue to experience difficulties importing material from different regions. A trader stated that "Middle Eastern producers and Asians show discipline, Asia is cut off from Europe due to prohibitive freight costs and US exporters continue to divert material towards their domestic customers because US prices are still high."
