The price of Asian ethylene Vinyl Acetate for the grade with high vinyl acetate Monomer content rose during the week ending February 12 due to increased demand for the photovoltaic grades. Solar panels are the main use for EVA with high VAM content. Swing plants can produce EVA and low density polyethylene. They are flexible enough to change product lines depending on market demand. Sources on the market confirmed that some producers, such as Thailand's TPI Polene or China's Baofeng Energy, are looking to switch from LDPE production to EVA to meet growing demand. A South Korean trader stated that "EVA prices have started to rise... PV module demands seem better". A major producer of shoe foam in Northeast Asia increased production to 10,000 mt/year in response to the increase...
