In the European acrylonitrile market, prices continued to rise in the week ending May 14. Tight supply was responsible for a broad balance of market fundamentals. Import tightness across the downstream value chain continued to be the primary driving factor of the market, with rerouted import cargoes of downstream acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene and acrylamide due to Red Sea security tensions continuing to drive consumers back to European sources of material. The demand for ACN feedstock has increased as a result. Data shows that spot pricing increased by $30/mt over the course of a week, to $1,480/mt CIF ACN.
