Due to higher crude oil prices and
replenishment needs, the CFR China propylene market saw increased indicative
bids and offers on April 10. The June ICE Brent crude oil futures
contract closed at $85.42/lb at 4:30pm Singapore time. This was $1.04 more than
the Asian close. A propylene user in Korea stated that he
expected the price of propylene to drop, but oil prices are still too high. The CFR
China marker's selling price was $950-$980/mt, while the buying indications
were around $900-930/mt. China's Tianjin Bohai Chemical plans
to delay the start of its propane hydrogenation unit. This is a change from the
April 7 plan. The move comes after the facility was shut down Jan. 7. Tianjin Bohai
