US Gulf Coast spot Methanol dropped 1 cent
per day on Friday, May 26. This brings the losses for the week up to 5 cents
from May 19. The
lack of interest in buying methanol has continued throughout the week, and
sellers have reduced their offer levels to try and attract buyers. Bids and trades have not been reported despite the fact that
offers fell in both May and July. Sources
said that the US market is currently well-supplied with methanol and there is
little interest in the spot market. Southern
Chemical Corporation announced its North American contract price for methanol
