Outright price drops over 4% in a single day / NYMEX June RBOB drops 11,38 cents/gal

On May 1, the outright MTBE prices fell by 11.38 cents/gal or 4.13%. This was in line with the NYMEX June RBOB. During the Market on Close process, there were no offers, bids or trades. Global MTBE prices continue to be under pressure. Asian MTBE prices fell $7/mt per day, while European prices dropped $16/mt. Market sources claim that US sellers need to be "aggressive," with low prices, if they wish to "get rid of length". RBOB is still down and the demand for US summer driving season has been low.
