- No trades or bids heard- Fourth consecutive drop in
price

Due to limited market activity, US Gulf
methanol was 1 cent per gall lower than the day before March 23. The spot
market saw no trades or bids and prices fell for the fourth day in a row. A source stated that the future outlook for demand remains
uncertain due to uncertainty about the impact of rising interest rate on the US
construction industry. Due to lower
feedstock costs, prices downstream fell for vinyl acetate monomer and acetic
acid. Spot methanol prices in Europe and
China remained stable despite a lack of trade.
