The US benzene price fell on June 20, as
there were no bids reported by market participants and the offers moved down. DDP for July is 4 cents less at 288 cents/gal. The July
FOB fell by 4 cents, to 297 cents/gal. One trader
commented that the benzene market was "really slow" today. Sources
have reported low demand for downstream Styrene, and that producers are
operating at minimal or reduced rates. Import
cargoes are also expected to arrive in the coming weeks, which will put
pressure on benzene. Sources reported that a higher than average
amount of US Gulf Coast benzene has been loaded in May. A trader
