Energy markets drop 4.3% in one day | MTBE Outright Price Drops 11.21 Cents/Gal

The US Gulf Coast MTBE futures price and
the gasoline futures prices both fell on May 30 as the energy markets were
weighed by the US Debt Ceiling Crisis and the uncertainty surrounding the
upcoming OPEC+ Meeting scheduled for June 4. MTBE on NYMEX July RBOB
plus 21 cents/gal. The differential was stable for the day. The outright price dropped 11.21 cents/gal, to
268.92cents/gal along with the underlying futures. July RBOB fell by approximately 4.3% to 247.92 Cents/gal. WTI for July also dropped by approximately 4.3% or $3.16 to
$69.60/bl. The US debt ceiling crisis has
been resolved tentatively, but it still needs to be approved by Congress.
