US Gulf Coast MTBE fell in price for a
second consecutive day on May 31, as gasoline futures continued to fall. MTBE on NYMEX July RBOB
plus 21 cents/gal. The differential was stable for the day. The outright price dropped by 3.54 cents, to 265.38
Cents/gal. Energy complex weakened on the
day. The July RBOB dropped 3.54 cents, to
244.38 cents/gal. WTI for July fell $1.36,
to $68.24/bl. July ULSD dropped 1.81
cents, to 225.09 Cents/gal. During May,
175,000 MTBE barrels were traded during the Market on Close process. This is up
from 75,000 in April. In May, US Gulf
Coast MTBE was sold at an average premium 5.3 cents/gal to NYMEX front-month
