March 24 saw a muted market for benzene due
to back-to-back conferences in the US Gulf Coast Region and lower activity in
downstream styrene styrene areas. DDP
benzene was stable at 353 cents per gall in April, and has been steady since
March 21. April FOB was stable at
369c/gal. April will transition to the
front month on March 27, Styrene,
downstream, was steady at $980-1000/mt. Market
sources said that there was still active selling of downstream ethylbenzene as
an octane booster to gasoline blenders. As
styrene demands remain low, some styrene manufacturers have sold ethylbenzene
