US Gulf Coast spot Methanol dropped 1 cent
per day on 25 May amid no interest in buying. No trades or bids were
made in the market, but offers were reported to have dropped to 81 cents/gal. Sources said that the US market is currently well-supplied
with methanol and there was therefore little interest in spot markets. Southern Chemical Corporation announced its North American
contract price for methanol at 163 cents/gal in June, 7 cents less than the
previous month. The company made the announcement May 25. This was the third consecutive decline in the contract
