The Asian benzene price fell on April 19, following volatile movements all day. The FOB Korea and CFR China markers were respectively $1,065.67/mt & $1,083.50/mt on April 19. This was a drop of $2.33/mt & $1/mt on the same day. The benzene price fluctuated throughout the day as it tracked changes in crude oil prices upstream. Crude oil futures soared by over 3% early in the morning Asian trade on April 19, following Israel's attack on Iran. Crude oil futures then pared early gains and retreated in the afternoon Asian trade on April 19 as investors assessed the effects of Israel's retaliatory attack against Iran, and the possibility of supply disruptions if violence escalated.
