The North African polyethylene industry saw a price increase in the week ending August 28 due to some suppliers wanting to increase their profit margins. CFR North Africa HDPE Film Spot Price at $1,135/mt is up $5 from the previous week. North Africa's overall supply and demand conditions were stable in comparison to the previous weeks. Some sellers, however, pushed for higher pricing in order to increase their profits despite high logistics costs. According to sources on the market, there was a moderate level of interest in buying, particularly in Egypt, where many converters continue to buy hand-to-mouth.
