Sources said that the Styrene Monomer
Markets gained $9/mt the day of May 25, following the strength on the domestic
China market. Participants were looking to cover their positions as the
settlement date for the styrene futures approaches with the month's end
approaching. On
May 25, the domestic China prompt mark rose Yuan 45/mt at Yuan 7,845/mt ex-tank,
which is around $965.04/mt based on import-parity. According to sources, China exported 6,000 mt styrene from
commercial storage tanks in east China during the week ending on May 24. In the weeks prior, discussions for spot cargoes were
