Asian toluene prices rose on March 13 due
to gains in downstream aromatics and upstream naphtha, which rose because of
stronger crude oil futures. These rose as the US Federal Reserve became less
hawkish and put pressure on dollar. This encouraged optimism and increased
demand. The preliminary South Korean import
and export data for March 1-10 shows that South Korea exported 3,144 tonnes of
toluene into the US Gulf, 5,268 to Australia, and 5,714 to Unv1. Trading
sources reported. Sources said that tight supplies due to lower
operating rates in South Korea, and downtime from scheduled maintenance were
the reasons for reduced toluene production. They also
