Asian MTBE was up $10/mt since April 6, at
$1,027/mt FOB Singapore, April 10, because demand remained strong and April
supply was slightly tighter, sources stated. On April 7, the Singapore market was closed due
to Good Friday. Trafigura submitted a bid to the Market on Close
April 10. Total was sold to Trafigura for $1,027/mt, for 3,000 mt loading from
April 25-29. This caused the MTBE factor rise 0.022 points to 1.206. A Chinese
trader stated that the Chinese domestic market was stable after last week's
sharp rise in Brent oil prices. Some expect domestic demand to
increase in May. Sources confirmed that a trade was made on April
3 at 1,000/mt FOB China, and 6,000 mt for May loading from Shandong. According
